Ryan and Lora in Western gear

Ryan and Lora Jacobson met at Shores of St. Andrew Lutheran Bible Camp in 1996. They were best friends for two years. The two often gave each other advice on dating, and Ryan even tried to set Lora up with his brother Scott. At last, in 1998, Ryan and Lora realized that they were meant to be together.

On August 12, 2000, Ryan and Lora were married. They added a quirky little dog named Naboo to their family and moved into their home in Cambridge, MN. Now, five years later, after years of struggling with infertility – doctor’s visits, medications, exploratory surgery, you name it – they’ve decided to adopt.

Ryan and Lora currently live in a spacious, three-bedroom home in Mora, MN. They have a Godchild named Carter, are licensed foster parents and are actively involved members of Calvary Lutheran Church.

About Lora

On Lora’s first day of school, more than 24 years ago, she knew that she wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. Eighteen years later, that dream became a reality when she was hired to teach kindergarten at Cambridge Elementary. Lora is entering her seventh year of teaching there, and she recently earned her Master’s in Education.

Lora is a kind-hearted, caring person. She is well respected and well liked by everyone who knows her. She is an avid gardener and also enjoys swimming at the Mora pool (she has a season pass) and garage saling.

Lora talks to her mom on the telephone almost every day.
